Shivapuri Nagarkot Trekking is regarded as one of the best short trek around Kathmandu Valley. This trekking package offers you to trek around the Kathmandu valley rim with a lot of natural enjoyment. Shivapuri Nagarkot Trek starts from the north of Kathmandu valley called Budhanilkantha. Budhanilkantha is a holy shrine of Lord Vishnu sleeping on the snake. From Budhanilkhanta, we start our actual trek to Shivapuri village lies on the north east part of the valley. Shivapuri National Park lies in the transition zone between subtropical and temperate climate with diverse vegetation.

Shivapuri National Park offers diverse flora and funa. You can observe the Utis species (Alnus nepalensis), Pine species, Oak species, rhododendron and bamboo forests, and much other vegetation. Besides, we can also spot animals like Muntjac, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Large Indian Civet, Wild Boar, Indian Pangolian, and Common Langur among others. Shivapuri village provides you an opportunity to experience the rich culture and traditions of the people.From Shivapuri, we trek to Chisapani which is a famous panoramic viewpoint. You can witness the beautiful views of Annapurna Massif, Ganesh Himal Ranges, Manaslu Ranges, Langtang Massif, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, Everest and many others peaks from Chisapani.

After exploring Chisapani, we move to Nagarkot which is equally famous viewpoint for the pleasant mountain views. Located at the altitude of 2100m, Nagarkot offers the best destination for tourists. Nagarkot is also popular for its phenomenal sunrise and sunset views. We eventually return back to Kathmandu via Changunarayan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square which marks the end of our Shivapuri Nagarkot Trekking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival and Check-in to the Hotel

The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02:  Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva.  We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists.   Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha and trek to Shivapuri (2729m) – 6 Hours

Today, we take a short drive to Budhanilkantha and then start trekking uphill to Shivapuri. The trekking almost takes about five hours to reach Shivapuri National Park. Shivapuri National Park preserves several species of flora and fauna. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 04: Trek from Shivapuri to Chisapani (2194m) – 7 Hours

We make start from Shivapuri this morning. On the way, we have to pass through the Tamang settlement of Mulkharka. Rejoicing the panorama of mountains around us and enjoying the nature, we eventually reach Chisapani where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2175m) – 7 Hours

Today, we trek to Nagarkot and it takes about 7 hours to get there. We have to pass through Chauki Bhanjyang to finally reach our destination. Nagarkot is located at the altitude of 2175m and is by far one of the most popular touring destinations in Nepal. From Nagarkot, you can enjoy the beautiful Himalayan ranges in the clear weather. You can also enjoy the best view of Kathmandu Valley from Nagarkot.

Day 06: Drive from Nagarkot to Kathmandu

We get up early in the morning to see the phenomenal sunrise views. If the weather is fine, you can have the best sunrise view from the Nagarkot Tower with the awe-inspiring views of snow-capped Himalayas. After taking breakfast, we hike to Changunarayan Temple. We then drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 07: Final Departure

Today, you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal.
