Kanchenjunga Trekking is considered one of the wilderness trekking trails in Nepal. Kanchenjunga (8586m), being the third highest mountain in the world is one of the most rewarding peak for trekkers. Kanchenjunga is located at the north eastern part of Nepal. Kanchenjunga region was restricted for trekkers till 1988 is now protected by Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project conducted by World Wildlife Fund in association with Government of Nepal. Kanchenjunga Trekking offers you to explore Kanchenjunga Sanctuary which is home to Red Panda and other montane flora and fauna. According to many trekkers and climbers, Kanchenjunga is the finest trekking route in Nepal Himalayas.

Kanchenjunga Trekking is a long trek going deep into the remote mountain ranges on the border of Nepal, Sikkim and Tibet. This trek offers wide range of scenery including lush and tropical jungles into the alpine zone. We begin the actual Kanchenjunga Trek by approaching the north side of Kanchenjunga where you can observe the awesome panorama of Nepal Peak, Kanchenjunga Base Camp, Tent Peak and Cross peak among others. From Pangpema, we return back to the south side of Kanchenjunga. Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and check-in to Hotel

The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley and Pre-trip Preparation

Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva.  We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists.   Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 03: Flight to Biratnagar and again flight to Suketar – 3 Hours

We take a scenic flight to Suketar from Kathmandu enjoying the great views of Himalayan ranges and beautiful hilly area. We will catch our scheduled next flight to Suketar on reaching Biratnagar Airport. Shortly after a while, we arrive at Suketar airport. We transfer to the hotel where we stay overnight.

Day 04: Trek from Suketar to Tabawa (1988m) – 4 Hours

After having breakfast in the hotel, we commence on the trek towards north to Taplejung until we reach the Tamor River. We then hike towards the South Base camp and then through the forest towards the North Base Camp of Kanchenjunga. We then pass through the grassy meadows and small teashops until we reach to Lalkharka. We eventually arrive at Tabawa where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 05: Trek from Tabawa to Khesewa (1920m) – 5 Hours

From Tabawa, we first hike to the terraced fields of Phawa village and then descend to Phawa Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge at Pawa Khola, we walk uphill through the forest and narrow terraced land overlooking the magnificent views of Kanchenjunga Glacier and the main summit of Yalung Kang (8505m). We will also get to enjoy the panoramic views of Jannu (7710m). We eventually reach at Khesewa where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 06: Trek from Khesewa to Mamankhe (1854m) – 6 Hours

After having morning breakfast at Khesewa, we descend towards the Kabeli Khola through several ups and downs in the path. We then walk through the forest and cross the small stream. En route, we will get to enjoy the great view of Himalayan ranges and will also encounter the local Limbu, Rai and Magar communities until we reach Ponpe Dhara. We set up our camp at the nearby village of Mamankhe. We stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 07: Trek from Mamankhe to Yamphudin (1706m) – 6 Hours

Today, we have to walk through the zigzag road along the great ridges behind the Kabeli Khola. Following the trail of stone steps, we finally reach Yamphudin where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 08: Trek from Yamphudin to Omje Khola – 5 Hours

We hike through the village passing the agricultural terraces and beautiful grazing meadows until we reach Omje Khola Valley. We can enjoy the distance view of spectacular mountains and surrounding terrains en route. Walking along the bank of Omje Khola and crossing the river once again, we eventually reach Omje Khola village where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 09: Trek from Omje Khola to Tortogn (2870m) – 6 Hours

We walk through the forest and grassy meadows until we reach Deurali Danda (3292m). We then ascend towards Chittre for lunch. We hike to Simbu Khola passing through the forest of rhododendron and overlooking the great views of Jannu and Kanchenjunga en route. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Simbu Khola, we again enter the dense forest until we reach the bank of Simbu Khola from where we ascend to Tortongn. We stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 10: Trek from Tortogn to Tseram (3736m) – 6 Hours

We hike towards the attractivevalley of Lalung with the pine and rhododendron forests. Now we will follow the trail alongside the bank of small stream enjoying the superb view of Yalung Glacier. We eventually reach Tseram where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 11: Rest and Exploration Day at Tseram – 5 hours

Today, we spend a whole day resting at Tseram. We make our day relaxing by visiting the places and settlements around Tseram. We can enjoy the panoramic views of Yalung Glacier and other mountain peaks including Talung, Rathong and Kabru.

Day 12: Trek from Tseram to Ramche (4290m) – 5 Hours

After having morning breakfast, we walk through steep road of moraine slop block until you reach Yalung Bara. We also pass through several ups and downs enjoying the good view of valley below. En route, we can also encounter many Sherpa peole and Yak herders. On reaching Ramche, we set up our camp and spend overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 13: Trek from Ramche to Yalung Glacier and KBC and back to Ramche – 8 Hours

Today, we walk on tough trail and it’s going to be quite longer trekking as well. Leaving Tseram, we walk to the trail junction and follow the right hand side trail towards Simbhu Khola. We then climb to Yalung where we meet another junction to reach Lapsang La Pass (5932m) and will reach to the bottom end of Yalung Glacier. We then follow the way of High camp. Again, we descend down to Ramche for overnight stay.

Day 14: Trek from Ramche to Torontam via Tseram – 5 Hours

We hike towards Tseram today. On the way to Tseram, we enjoy the good view of Mera Peak and the highest peak of Kanchenjunga. Walking through the forest of blue pine and rhododendron, we eventually reach Torontam where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 15: Trek from Torontam to Yamphudin – 6 Hours

From Torontam, we walk down towards Yamphudin today. We encounter the porters and carrying Yaks passing through the forests and sloppy path. We then hike through the small village of Limbu, Gurung and Rai people to eventually reach Yamphudin where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 16: Trek from Yamphudin to Ponphe – 6 Hours

From Yamphudin, we walk towards Kabeli Khola. We cross the bridge on Kabeli Khola and then enter into the forest and descend downhill via sloppy terrace on the way until we reach the Ponpe. We stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 17: Trek from Ponphe to Pha Khola – 6 Hours

Today, we descend via ridge to reach Pun village. Passing the village of Kesewa, we walk downward to Bhanjyang where we can visit the Gurung settlement and beautiful farming terrace surrounded by stone walls. Passing Limbu village of Khanjari, we reach Pha Khola where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 18: Trek from Pha Khola to Suketar – 4 Hours

Today, we descend to Taplejung. We can encounter porters and local people on theway to Suketar. Passing through small hotels and Limbu, Rai villages, we finally arrive at Suketar. After having lunch, we can enjoy the sightseeing throughout Suketar and make sure of tomorrow flight to Biratnagar and then to Kathmandu.

Day 19: Flight back to Biratnagar and then to Kathmandu

Today, we take the morning flight to Biratnagar and then consecutively take the next flight to Kathmandu from Biratnagar.

Day 20: Final Departure

Today, you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal.
