is one of the classic lodge treks in Mustang Region. This trek is a part of Annapurna Circuit and is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. Jomsom Muktinath Trekking offers the diverse landscapes and cultures found along the trekking routes which give the perfect insight into the rural life of Nepalese people. This trek includes Jomsom and Muktinath Trek along with the deepest gorge of the world in Kali Gandaki River. This trek can be completed by anybody with a moderate level of fitness.

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking continues along the Kali Gandaki River Gorge marveling at the splendid peaks of Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. During this trek, you will get to explore some of the oldest monasteries, local tribes, ancient caves and some of the peerless scenic beauties of various landscapes. The unforgettable adventure of your life begins with the Kali Gandaki River Gorge passing through an almost barren landscape, steep rocky trail up and down hill along with some of the most panoramic views of snowcapped mountains including Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna among several other peaks.

In the initial days of Jomsom Muktinath Trekking, we trek through Annapurna Region ascending through rice terraces and villages inhabited by the majority of Gurung People. Tatopani is the place where you will have the opportunity to relax in the natural hot springs. You will also get to witness the wonderful mountain views from Poon Hill. Then, the trek passes through Jomsom and Kagbeni. Kagbeni is the entry point of Upper Mustang Region. We will spend a whole day for the exploration of Muktinath Pilgrimage Site. The fantastic sightseeing tour of Pokhara valley, while returning back from Jomsom, is the other highlight of Jomsom Muktinath Trek. Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival and Check-in to the Hotel

The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02:  Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva.  We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists.   Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (Around 7/8 hours)

After having breakfast in the morning today, we drive to Pokhara. It takes around 7 hours to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu by bus. You can also take the flight which take about 30 minutes and in the remaining time, take your time to explore the Pokhara city and Lakeside. We stay overnight at a guesthouse in Pokhara.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 Hours

Today, we are going to begin our actual trek from Nayapul. So, we take a short drive to Nayapul from Pokhara which takes about an hour. From Nayapul, we take a short walk along the banks of Modi Khola, which brings us to Birethanti (1015m). From there, our trail continues through the village and climbs continuously up the side to the Hille (1495m). We eventually reach Tikhedhunga (1577m) where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours

From Tikhedhunga, we move on towards the steep climb to Ulleri (2070m). Ulleri is a large Magar village. Our trail ascends more gently from this point through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti (2250m). After walking for a couple of hours, we arrive at Ghorepani (2840m) where we stay overnight.

Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) and trek to Tatopani (1190m) – 6 Hours

Early in the morning today, we start an hour hiking to Poon Hill (3210m) which is a best viewpoint in the Annapurna Region. Poon Hill offers the best opportunity to witness the phenomenal panorama of the beautiful peaks including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Poon Hill is regarded as the Photographer’s paradise. You can enjoy the unobstructed views of the sunrise over stunning snowcapped Himalayas. Poon Hill also offers the best views of sunset too. After spending about an hour at Poon Hill, we return back to Ghorepani.After having breakfast at Ghorepani, we continue our journey to Tatopani. We have to pass through Chitre (2390m)and then to Sikha. Sikha is a large village with some shops and hotels. After Sikha, we take further steep descent of 500m to reach Ghar Khola. We eventually trek towards north to reach Tatopani where you can enjoy bathing in the natural hot springs. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 07: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2010m) – 5 Hours

Our trail climbs up to Kali Gandaki Gorge today. Kali Gandaki gorge is known as the deepest gorge in the world which is located between two giants Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, both of these mountains are higher than 8000m. Our trail then rises gently up to Dana and onto Rupse Chhahara. Rupse Chhahara is the beautiful waterfall. We reach Kopchepanias we cross the eastern bank of the rirver. From Kopchepani, there’s just a short climb to Ghasa where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 08: Trek from Ghasa to Tukuche (2586m) – 6 Hours

Today, we start the trek crossing the eastern side of the river. And we cross it back again before entering the Larjung. Our trail continues on a short distance to the village of Khobang. Finally we reach the ancient Thakali village of Tukuche where we spend overnight.

Day 09: Trek from Tukuche to Kagbeni (2810m) – 5 Hours

We climb along the side of the valley to Jomsom today. Jomsom is a large settlement and is also the administrative center to the region. We then walk towards the Ekle Bhatti and then take the direct route to Muktinath. We follow the trail along the river to Kagbeni which is located at the junction of the Jhong Khola and the Kali Gandaki. Kagbeni is the northernmost village that we can visit without a permit to continue to Mustang District. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 10: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) – 5 Hours

From Kagbeni, we make a steep climb up the Jhong Khola valley today. We then join the direct trail to Muktinath just below Khingar. Passing through Jharkot, we eventually reach the holy temple of Muktinath, which is considered one of the holiest pilgrimages in Nepal. Muktinath Area is home to several monasteries along with the temple of Muktinath. Interestingly, Muktinath is sacred pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus. You can witness 108 water sprouts around it and a gorgeous natural spring and an eternal flame fueled by natural gas. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m) – 5 Hours

We follow the same trail back to Kagbeni. And following the trail down to the Ekle Bhatti, we step towards Jomsom again. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 12: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and Pokhara city sightseeing

From Jomsom, we take a morning flight to Pokhara, which takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Pokhara, we drive to hotel and in the remaining day, we take our time for the sightseeing of the beautiful city of Pokhara, which is the best tourist destination in Nepal. We explore the number of mysterious caves and temples. We take our time to enjoy boating in Fewa Lake and explore the Seti Gorge, Museum, and Davis Falls. In the remaining time, you can explore around the city. Overnight, we stay at a guesthouse.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara

We drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara today. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can utilize your time for the last minute shopping or you can explore around the city. We celebrate the Farewell Dinner together with the trekking team and spend overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Final Departure

Today, you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal.
